Hello again, postings from IRC today's session was very special lasting over 30 minutes long and even more special today's most generous host.
As all previous IRC transcriptions these are summarized and translated quotes and should not be holding the developers accountable for things said in such an informal environment. Anything said here shouldn't have your lives betting on it, treat as speculation and fuel for your magic crystal ball. After all game development changes as fast as the wind direction does all subject to delete/nuke and starting over.
CCP Jian, Executive Producer of Dust 514 popped in to say hi and answer some big picture questions. Specific game play questions from previous irc question gatherings where paritally kept to be asked later for CCP Wolfman.
Also note some of these replies are from other developers from previous days but they left only one or two lines.

Favorite Feature? 'Orbital Bombardment, the only way to be sure!, Corps, Conquest, Star map, ... I can't decide.'
Counter Orbital Strikes 'You'll get to see these bad boys real very Soon(w/o TM) and very up-close.'
Eve Side viewing of districts on the surface? 'Somewhat in, enhancements are Soon (w/o TM), and you'll be able to see battles from orbit.'
@CCP Wolfman, Your world of weapons where are they? 'Ran into a bug during testing it should be real soon though with post. '
Nova Knives 'They're very sharp, they're also separate now and have various new skills and meta levels.'
Corps 'FULL corps is very very imminent.'
Skills for Corps? 'Corp Management, Mega Corp management, and Empire Control, each level allows more players into your group.'
Dust 514 IRL Gear 'We scored with a manufacturer expect them hot drop soon.'
Subscription Models 'It's in planning but not in development, top priority is launch features and this isnGÇÖt one of them.'
Planetary Controls 'Dust 514 players can retain pure control of planets away from Eve players.'
Dev Blogs 'Yes one inbound about planetary control, the corporations you make and orbital strikes.'
Better MQ stuff 'Not top priority but in the future we want to add more function and customization such as the bed letting you log out'
Player Controlled Installations? 'That's part of the commander mode and because of time is short we're not going to launch it half baked. It will be npc placed for now. They are being worked on.'
Trophy Wall with the heads of our Enemies 'Yes!'
Command suits gone 'They got rerolled into the commander mode.'
Uh Commander mode? 'MMC Pilot, controls the battlefield flow with installations and other stuff', to him it would be playing an RTS.'
So what happend to squad commanders? 'New Suit class called Crusader will be taking over that role, they provide bonuses for nearby squad members or determental effects to the enemy using new command modules.'
Face customization 'Not top priority but itGÇÖs being worked on here's a short hint of what you could get. Video We are also looking at other cool things such as eventual clothing and PC customization side maybe other things like PSEYE and vita.'
Females? 'Next Build and oh boy are they hawt and heavy.'
Sex Change? 'Yes but only if you selected female when you signed up that clone. Other possiblities might happen.'
What are the Priorities on the plate being balanced now? 'Launch Features (FW) then 0.0 conquest and player installations of all sorts, anything extra outside of that would just be bonus when it comes into play, other features will get pushed back to make sure these get out the door quickly.'
Scrambler Rifles (laser) 'Getting Deployed Soon.'
Bullet Dynamics 'We are testing some new bullet dynamics, namely projectile based rounds.'
Gunships, Fighters and MTACs 'Ask us later after we get something out of the way.'
PVE(player vs. environment) 'Still being worked on, First of which is called infestation, you'll be shooting Drones, lots of drones, hope you donGÇÖt drown in that many drones. Still plenty of heavy experimenting going on.'
Bullet Jerk 'Getting ajdusted'
Map Size? 'It's getting bigger.'
Options Considerations Suggestions? 'All being considered.'
'So what about those Other suits we saw on the market in Eve?' 'Similar to the Black Ops and Marauder for HAVs Suits are getting their own versions.'
New Player Experience 'Tonns of it coming in, Video, Tutorials the whole shebang.'
Design a Starter Fit by the community? 'Great Idea!'
Starter Suits 'Tweaked significantly you should be able to design a better build up and should be less lame (cough heavy with swarm launcher).'
Big Announcement 'Soon(certainly and most definetly without the TM.)'
Then CCP Jian announced he had to leave and go back to work play testing the newest build and we thanked him for his time. |

Current Queue of unasked questions for QnA feel free to add your own.
1. The camera feels a bit floaty with a gun attached to it sometimes is there any changes in camera animation to address this? (This is possibly already answered with the new character mobility model posted by CCP Commander Wang)
2. @CCP Wolfman some intial controller feedback as requested here https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=34763
3. Sniper operators in IRC argued over this for two hours and concluded for at least now that Sniper Rifle sway and recovery should be increased drastically to encourage training to lvl 5. This will award skillful players for making the first shot count while not so skillful can make up for it. Also that damage be scaled down a bit now that suit hp is a bit more normalized.
4. What are the current plans for turret families? Many feel missile launchers are too superior in every role while railguns have the edge over blasters still? A good thought out suggestion addressing overall issue can be found here. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=290577
5. After another long discussion about tank warfare, one idea that emerged was infantry trenches? Your thoughts?
6. Is mass being adjusted for suits and vehicles? Some of them feel alot lighter than they need to be and have no regards to velocity at times. (also possibly answered with mobility model update)
7. The issue of the ever presistent ghost/dud grenades? Annoying as it is any insight to what could be causing the grenades to break? they dont like the idea of slamming into walls.
8. Are the new pilot, crusader, and Command suit going to use new models? or are they going be copy and paste (*shivers)
9. How is API/CREST going to be handled for dust and any realease of coding for it so 3rd party developers can work thier magic? |

CCP has expressed they wanted planet variables to drastically effect maps as well so this was the most obvious of them. They acutlaly hired an Astronomer to fix all the previous stats. (as some planets where hotter than some suns before the fix up) |

That irked me, too. l hope he was just being glib.
There where alot of jokes from jian made things a little bit hard. He was referring to the heavy suit female model. Shes a big girl according to the othere devs not sure what is meant. |

Increased players per team is an eventuality.
Infinite sprint is not going to happen, further encouragement to train staimina skills or to use vehicles.
LAV extra passneger seats seems unlikely due to technical limitations atm but ill ask.
Squad sizes should be player manageable but ill ask for clarification. |

Are we going to be able to increase the stacking size next build? ie fill one side of a match with corpmates? P.S. When the bandwidth and memory allows for it, they should be getting bigger in size. As for squad sizes they should be managed by players so a squad could be anything from 2+, corps will be more organized.

yes its at TGS from what I understand but its extremly hard to get any of my japan friends to take snapshots there they really dont like pictures or cameras there. |
